Natural School Photography – Ribblesdale High School
I was recently asked by Maxmedia to take some Natural School Photography at Ribblesdale High School, local to their offices in Clitheroe, Lancashire. The school were were after some documentary photography to showcase their wonderful staff, pupils and facilities.
A very busy and most organised ever shoot ever (thanks Mel!), saw me documenting a couple of small groups of year 7 and year 10 children in a variety of locations including Science, French, Art, DT and PE. It’s been years since I’ve been inside a high school and it brought back many memories!
We wanted images to showcase the pupils and staff and the facilities / environment. All whilst having little impact on the working day of the students and classrooms involved. Rather than standing the pupils around and posing them, we arranged a number of small “fake lessons” for the kids to partake in, ensuring they were not disturbed when I got close to the action!
Very heavy rain meant we couldn’t shoot outside and were mainly restricted to classroom photography. After initially feeling a little awkward infront of the camera, the kids were great and a credit to the school.
What fun to go back to school! A very small selection of frames from the day below…
